![]() CAT 2010 I asked Carina about he 2010 SAG, and here was her response:
My question: 2010 SAG -
With the new proposed changes to the curriculum whereby There
is a difference between assignments and projects: the scope, i.e.
duration, amount of work, etc. Assignments are usually something
shorter that can be done in one or two periods in class where teacher
provide info and learners answer questions, interpret, draw
conclusions, etc. using that information and hand in. Projects
normally require planning, investigation/research, data collection,
as part of the process and take up a few days to several weeks, is
more open-ended and allows for creativity and innovation, less
supervision (but still guidance), etc. |
CAT as a University Subject
There is a big
misconception re recognition and designated list. ALL universities DO
recognise CAT, even for degree, providing that the minimum
requirements for entry into Higher Education (degree) have been
met. |
PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT TASKS Please note that the email sent out concerning the Computer Applications Technology 2009 PAT Supplementary exam is incorrect. Kindly disregard its contents. (2010 PAT TOPICS) At this stage there is no further information on the Subject Assessment Guidelines for 2010. Although various documents have indicated that their are no additional projects, The Practical Assessment Task remains. CAT Educators are encouraged to start the PAT immediately to ensure that they are completed by the end of the 3rd term. This gives the learners, and the Educators, plenty of time to complete and mark the PAT. We all know how busy the 4th term is ! |
